We are excited to announce that Phoebe Putney Health System has joined Grow Albany as a corporate leader for replanting trees at Tift Park. Their financial contribution is also matched with in-kind landscape donations specific to Tift Park.

“Tift Park is our backyard, so leading the Grow Albany initiative at the park was a natural decision for us. The trees we lost to the storm were symbols of our community. Watching new trees grow will be an important part of our community’s recovery. Phoebe has been a vital part of this historic neighborhood for more than 100 years, and we plan to be here for 100 more, growing right alongside those new trees that will represent a vibrant future for Albany,” says Joel Wernick, President and CEO of Phoebe.

“The first corporate call I received was from Phoebe. Grow Albany is larger than any one area, but because of Phoebe and other corporate sponsors, we will be able to begin to replant our public parks and donate trees to many residences. The sponsorship dollars will also allow groups of volunteers to be more involved in the planting process. I have personally witnessed how people working in groups has helped build camaraderie and a sense of neighborly love in our community,” says Judy Bowles, Executive Director of Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful.
