Darsey Family Foundation donates $12,000 for Tift Park restoration

Albany, Ga. – As the Grow Albany initiative and its sponsors strive to rebuild following the devastation from the January 2017 storms, the Darsey Family Foundation has joined Grow Albany by donating $12,000 earmarked for restoration of historic Tift Part. A restoration event will take place at Tift Park on February 17, which will be the City of Albany’s Arbor Day Celebration.

“Grow Albany is thrilled to receive this gift from the Darsey Family Foundation to continue rebuilding Tift Park. One of the features we are most excited about is restoring the Historic Tift Park Carriage Trails. This national historic site featured beautiful oak-lined carriage trails, part of the original landscaping from 1912, that were destroyed in the storms. We are thankful to the Darsey Family Foundation for joining us to restore this iconic area,” said Judy Bowles, Executive Director of Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful.
